Brooks is a city in southeastern Alberta on the Trans-Canada Highway, in irrigated prairie country of the County of Newell. Feedlots, food processing, and a diverse newcomer workforce shape an agribusiness hub on the dry southern plains. Lake Newell and prairie reservoirs lie just outside town. About 15,000 people live in Brooks.
