Foothills County is a municipal district in southern Alberta along the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountain foothills, south and west of Calgary. It surrounds High River and Okotoks as separate urban municipalities and covers hamlets, ranches, and acreages rather than forming a city. Highway 2 and foothills ranch roads cross the county. About 23,000 people live in Foothills County.
