About Mirabel

Mirabel is a large municipality in the Laurentides, northwest of Montréal, stitched together from former parishes around a vast airport site. Montréal–Mirabel International Airport is now mainly cargo and aerospace rather than a passenger gateway; farms, hamlets such as Saint-Janvier and Saint-Canut, and new housing fill the rest. Autoroute 15 and the industrial airport lands give the city a spread-out, partly rural character. About 61,000 people live in Mirabel.
