New Glasgow is a town on the East River of Pictou in northern Nova Scotia, the largest of the Pictou County “twin towns” beside Stellarton, Trenton, and Westville—each a separate municipality. A former shipbuilding and coal-region service centre, it has a downtown on the river and Glasgow Square as its civic stage. About 9,000 people live in New Glasgow.
