About New Westminster

New Westminster is a compact city on the Fraser River in Metro Vancouver, between Burnaby and Surrey. It was the first capital of the Colony of British Columbia and remains a dense, older urban centre with SkyTrain, a working riverfront, and steep streets above the quay. The city is much smaller in area than its neighbours. About 79,000 people live in New Westminster.
