Newmarket is a town in York Region, on the Holland River north of Toronto. It grew from a mill village into a regional centre for northern York, with a restored Main Street, Fairy Lake, and large retail along Yonge Street. GO Transit and Highway 404 make it a commuting town with its own hospital and civic core. About 88,000 people live in Newmarket.
