About Rimouski

Rimouski is the principal city of the Bas-Saint-Laurent, on the south shore of the St. Lawrence estuary. It is a university and regional-service centre—home to Université du Québec à Rimouski—with a deep-water harbour and a long shoreline toward Le Bic. Maritime research, a compact downtown, and the Pointe-au-Père lighthouse mark the city. About 49,000 people live in Rimouski.
