About Rouyn-Noranda

Rouyn-Noranda is the principal city of Abitibi-Témiscamingue, on Lac Osisko in northwestern Québec. It joined the twin mining towns of Rouyn and Noranda and remains a copper-smelting and regional-service centre in the boreal shield. A compact downtown, the Horne smelter skyline, and a well-known emerging-music festival define the city. About 42,000 people live in Rouyn-Noranda.
