About Salaberry-de-Valleyfield
Salaberry-de-Valleyfield is a Montérégie city on islands and canals at the Beauharnois Canal, where Lake Saint-François meets the St. Lawrence southwest of Montréal. It grew around hydroelectric dams, textiles, and a sheltered harbour, and is still framed by water on almost every side. The international hydroplane regatta fills the old canal in summer.
