About Welland

Welland is in the Niagara Region of Ontario, on the Welland River and the Welland Canal that lifts ships between Lakes Ontario and Erie. It is often called the Rose City. A recreational waterway occupies a former canal channel through downtown, and the city retains a manufacturing and canal-town character distinct from the Falls tourism strip. About 56,000 people live in Welland.
